Patna Municipal Corporation is segregated into 4 Circles which are further divided into 72 wards. An Executive Officer looks after the administration of each circle; the main 4 circles of Patna city are:New Capital Circle: This is the largest circle with 29 Wards. Boring Road, Bailey Road, Kurji, Rajiv Nagar, Khajpura, Station, Gandhi Maidan, etc. are some of the important wards in this circle.
Kankarbagh Circle: This comprises of 11 Wards, ward number and covers areas covered like New ByPass Road, Chirayyar Railways Bridge, Kankarbagh Road, Gandhi Setu Road, Saidpur, etc.
Bankipore Circle: Comprising of 12 Wards, ward number being 36-43 it covers regions like Ashok Rajpath, Saidpur Main Drain, Bakerganj, Gandhi Ghat, Bari Path, etc.

Boring Road : Boring Road is an important locality of Patna, considered as the most up-market & posh area of Patna, it is located in the northern part of the city. Majorly inhabitated by the Officer class it starts from Patna Women's College and ends at A N College. Some of the colonies adjacent to Boring Road are Nageshwar Colony, Sri Krishna Puri & North Sri Krishna Puri.Frazer Road : Frazer Road is also a famous commercial centre in Patna which is quiet popular amongst tourists & locals alike. It is a place for unlimited shopping & fun with many hotels, restaurants, bars, and high-end stores are located here.
Keshri Nagar : Keshri Nagar is also an important residential locality in Patna, which houses many houses, educational institutes and shops catering to the daily needs of the residents. The place offers a comfortable lifestyle to the people residing here.
Bailey Road : Bailey Road in Patna city, now officially renamed as Jawahar Lal Nehru Marg starts from Income Tax Golambar and ends in Danapur. Located in the heart of the city it is an important place in the City. Gandhi Maidan Marg : Considered as the hub of Patna city due to its central location. It is an important landmark of Patna because of its historical importance. One of the main market and commercial area of Patna; many institutes, shops & hotels have come up in the area to cater to the needs of local residents and the tourists. One of the prime locations Ashok Rajpath starts from Gandhi Maidan.
Kankarbagh : This is a residential colony which was established in 1960. It is spread over a large area of 900 acres which houses a number of mall residential colonies. Kankarbagh meaning garden of kankar (stone chips) holds to its merit of being one of the largest colonies of Asia area & population wise.
